Quarter Flash was an American rock band formed in 1980 in Portland, Oregon[4]. The band consisted of Orinda Sue "Rindy" Ross (vocals, saxophone), Marv Ross (guitar), Jack Charles (guitar), Rick DiGiallonardo (keyboards), Rich Gooch (bass), and Brian David Willis (drums)[1]. They gained popularity with their sax-heavy pop/rock sound.
Quarter Flash is best known for their hit song "Harden My Heart" released in 1981, which appeared on their self-titled debut album[3][4]. The band's eponymous album received critical acclaim[3]. They released two studio albums, "Quarter Flash" (1981) and "Take Another Picture" (1983), as well as two compilation albums, including "The Best of Quarterflash: The Millennium Collection" (1996) and "Harden My Heart: The Best of Quarterflash" (1997)[1][3].
The band had a hiatus from 1985 to 1990 but reunited and continued performing until 2019[1]. Their music falls into the pop/rock genre, characterized by Rindy Ross' distinct vocals and saxophone solos[2].
